Are you planning a craft or baking day in December that includes making gingerbread? Don’t forget to download this gingerbread letter G coloring page for your preschooler.
Making gingerbread is a tradition we typically trace back to England in about the 11th century. In the 16th century, gingerbread houses appeared in Germany, eventually becoming a Christmas tradition.
Did you know that gingerbread really originated with the ancient Greeks and Egyptians? At first, only the wealthier Europeans could afford it, because ginger was imported from the Middle East.
Use this letter G worksheet as a complement to a mini-study about gingerbread or during a gingerbread baking activity. Your child will enjoy tasting some delicious homemade gingerbread while they working on their coloring page!
Invite your child to trace the words, then color the gingerbread picture as they wish. You may desire to read the words to them and review the different sounds that the letter G makes.
For more fun, have your child cut out the gingerbread shape and the title. Next, have them paste the shape and the title to a piece of colored construction paper.
