Get kids motivated to put their ideas on paper with these fun and free writing prompts for St. Patrick’s Day.
I make every single holiday celebration an opportunity to get my students writing. So many times kids do not know how to put their ideas on paper.
Therefore, creating opportunities for them to write is crucial. I am speaking from experience. See, my son has – even today – challenges with writing.
Writing I just not his thing, but mostly I think there is a deeper issue. He is super smart, can remember what he has learned, and is able to express his answers verbally with ease.
However, when it comes to jotting down his ideas with writing he freezes. One time during an essay question I gave him he got really frustrated and told me, “Mom I have all these words in my head but I can’t put them in a paper.”
It could be a combination of his hands and mind not working together or also that he hates to sit down for long periods of time to do one task.
Either way, I would be doing him a disservice if I do not help him practice, at least. That is why I am so ready to provide my kids opportunities to write with writing prompts, especially on every holiday that comes up.
These FREE Writing Prompts for St. Patrick’s Day are unique in that kids will look at an illustration THEN have to write about it. I feel like it is less pressure this way and more FUN!
