There are so many things for little ones to learn, but there are lots of fun ways for them to learn! Don’t miss these free synonym practice puzzles if your child is learning synonyms or just needs to practice.
Practicing with synonyms helps build vocabulary, which comes in handy when doing creative writing. Using synonyms keeps us from using the same word repetitively and helps us express ourselves in more detail.
The puzzles in this download include a picture and two synonyms to match to the picture, all on separate pieces. The three pieces fit together to make a rectangle.
To use your puzzles, print the pages out on cardstock, then cut out the rectangles and each puzzle piece. There are eight pages to print and four puzzles per page for a total of 32 puzzles!
These puzzles would be a great complement to your lessons or for practice when work is finished. Use them for quiet time, too, if your child can match the words without help.
Turn practice into a challenge with a timer, or quiz your children to see if they can think of any additional synonyms.
