Pumpkin season doesn’t need a new preschool curriculum. A die, a few counters or a dot marker, and a stack of cheerful pumpkin faces at the kitchen table will do. This Reading Mama shares a free Pumpkin Preschool Pack, a 63-page printable where friendly pumpkins show six feelings (happy, sad, mad, scared, worried, and surprised) while your little one practices dice patterns, ABAB and ABCABC patterns, uppercase and lowercase letters, rhyming, and tracing. It’s all pumpkins and feelings, with no spooky pages, so it works for families who celebrate Halloween and for families who simply enjoy a harvest-season theme.
(The 63 pages include a color math section, a color literacy section, a blackline section with most of the same activities, plus a few intro and credit pages. Page 1 lists the page ranges so you can print just what you need.)

- Dice pattern memory match: match dice dots to numerals 1–6
- Roll & dot pumpkin faces: roll one die and cover the matching dice pattern or number on the pumpkin
- Finish the pattern boards: one ABAB board and one ABCABC board, with picture cards to complete each pattern

- Pumpkin Faces emergent reader: a short feelings book (“The pumpkin is happy.” “The pumpkin is sad.” and more)

Blackline section

Age band: Preschool (the publisher made it for tots and preschoolers). Many kindergartners will enjoy the rhyming puzzles and the emergent reader too.
Who it’s for
This pack is for frugal fall mornings with a three-, four-, or five-year-old who wants to “do school” alongside older siblings. The pumpkin faces open up easy conversations about feelings (“When do you feel worried?”), and the math and letter games take only a few minutes each. Laminate the boards, use counters instead of dot paint, and the pack can come back out every October.

How to use it this fall
- Start on the landing page, scroll to the teal download button, and check page 1 of the PDF for the page ranges.
- Feelings first: Read the Pumpkin Faces book together and act out each face. Ask your child to point to the pumpkin that matches how they feel today.
- Roll and dot: Hand over one die and a dot marker (or counters) for the roll & dot pages.
- Letter hunt: Shuffle the letter cards facedown. Your child flips one, names it, and covers that letter on the pumpkin.
- Rhyme time: Cut the rhyming puzzles apart and let your child match the pairs. Each puzzle only fits its partner.
- Trace and finish: End the week with the tracing pages and the pattern boards.

- One die, plus dot paint markers, stickers, or counters (buttons or cereal work too)
- Scissors, and optionally a laminator or page protectors for reuse
