Pumpkin week doesn’t need a boxed science kit—just scissors, glue, and a printable you’ll actually finish at the kitchen table. ABCdee Learning offers a free 12-page pumpkin lifecycle pack: a lifecycle craft, a color-and-staple mini book, and a parts-of-a-pumpkin cut-and-paste. Seed → sprout → vine → flower → green pumpkin → orange pumpkin keeps fall science hands-on for PreK through early elementary without a cart full of seasonal workbooks.

What’s included
Per ABCdee’s pumpkin crafts landing (#31 Lifecycle of a Pumpkin Freebie) and the verified 12-page PDF:
- Lifecycle of a pumpkin craft — cut-and-paste stages: seed, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin, pumpkin
- “My Lifecycle of a Pumpkin Book” — colorable mini book pages (planted seeds → sprout → plant → vine with flowers → green pumpkin → orange pumpkin); staple when done
- Parts of a pumpkin — labeled diagram + cut-and-paste labels (vine, leaf, stem, shell, fibrous strands, seeds, pulp)
Optional related freebies on the same landing (soft add-ons if you want more pumpkin table time):
- Pumpkin Pack (9 pages) — shapes match/trace, color words, cutting, reading, pumpkin investigation, craft template
Download Pumpkin Pack PDF (9 pages) - How to Carve a Pumpkin (8 pages) — carve-steps mini book, cut-and-paste sequence, jack-o’-lantern writing sheet (Halloween-lite, not gore)
Download How to Carve a Pumpkin PDF (8 pages)
Age band: PreK–early elementary · science / fine motor / fall theme. Print what fits this week; save the rest for pumpkin-patch field-trip day.
Who it’s for
Best for frugal fall science mornings—littles cut and paste lifecycle stages while older siblings color the mini book and label pumpkin parts. Ideal when you want real science vocabulary (seed, vine, pulp, stem) without buying a seasonal stack you’ll finish in three days.

How to use it this fall
- Lifecycle day: Cut the stage pieces first; paste seed → sprout → vine → flower → green → orange on the craft page.
- Mini-book finish: Color the book pages, put them in order, staple—instant “I made a science book” win.
- Pumpkin dissection duo: After scooping a real pumpkin, use the parts cut-and-paste to name stem, pulp, seeds, and fibrous strands.
- Fine-motor station: Sheet protectors + dry-erase for re-practice labels; cardstock for craft pieces that survive siblings.
- Carve week (optional): Add the How to Carve mini book/sequence only if your family does jack-o’-lanterns—skip if you prefer harvest-only.
What you’ll need
- Printer + paper (cardstock helps for craft pieces and labels)
- Scissors, glue/glue stick, crayons or markers, stapler (for the mini book)
- Optional: laminator or sheet protectors for reuse next October
- No paid pumpkin unit required—grab the free PDF from ABCdee and print what you’ll use
