With this free analysis and poetry copywork you can help your student explore the Good Friday poem by Christina Rossetti.
Did you ever think to combine poetry reflection and Easter in your homeschool? Easter is a great time for our children to learn more about the true meaning behind this holy day.
Good Friday is a devotional Christian poem based on Biblical texts and prophecies. What I am most intrigued about in the poem is the yearning for the reader to find Christianity.
The poem has four stanzas of four lines each (quatrains), the metrical rhythm according to text reviews are irregular, and the rhyme scheme follows the pattern ABBA, CDDC, EFEF, GHGH.
This free analysis and poetry copywork will help kids to develop critical thinking skills by breaking down the steps to analyze poetry.
Your student will go through the analysis process by exploring a few key steps.
Those few steps in analysis help kids examine the definition of words. It also asks what in the text is repeated and why, what literary devices are used in the text, the mood/tone/theme of the poem, and more.
Help your kids be engaged with a poem that challenges them to think about the sacrifice and suffering of Jesus on Good Friday.
