The Grinch is a popular Christmas figure well-loved by many. Learn to draw this favorite grouchy character with a free draw the grinch art lesson.
Dr. Suess’s children’s book about the Grinch came out in 1957. The animated television special came a few years later, in 1966.
The story begins with the Grinch’s disenchantment with Christmas and dislike for the Whos. In the end, his heart grows and he realizes that Christmas is wonderful after all.
This video art lesson is a fun choice for your next homeschool Christmas art activity. The steps are easy and the artist moves at a pace easy enough for children to follow along.
You will need a sheet of heavier paper and a set of chalk pastels. Colors you will specifically need are black, blue, and several shades of green and yellow.
During the lesson you will want to keep a wet cloth or wipe nearby. The chalk color can smudge onto the paper from your hands and make a bit of a mess.
Enjoy the variations in your children’s own unique artwork. No Grinch will be exactly the same!
