If your child enjoys clip card activities, don’t miss this awesome phonics freebie. These consonant blend clip cards will help your child grasp the “nk” ending sound.
Sometimes learning blend sounds can be a struggle for new readers. Memorizing them takes lots of practice.
Having a few different activities on hand to review blend sounds is a good idea. While one certain activity might not help, another might be the one that makes it “click.”
This clip card activity is a fun, interactive way to help your child recognize the “nk” blend sound.
Print out your cards on heavy paper like cardstock, then laminate them for durability. Separate and stack the cards individually.
Gather one or two small clips to place on the cards. You can use a tiny clothespin, a plastic clip, or a dry erase marker.
There are eight cards in this colorful set. Each card shows one word ending with “nk” and three images at the bottom.
First, your child will sound out the word at the top of the card. Next, they will add a clip to the picture that matches that word.
These cute clip cards are great for lessons, independent practice, or even a car ride activity.
