Apple season is fast approaching. Use this apple playdough counting activity to complement your apple unit studies.
If you have never loaded the family up for a day at the orchard, you are really missing out. A day of apple picking and wandering under the trees is an unforgettable experience.
There are so many fun things to learn about apples and how they are used!
Celebrate the upcoming apple season and add these activity mats to your math lessons.
You’ll find ten mats for counting practice numbers 1 to 10. Each mat includes activities to engage your child and help them practice counting.
Your child will use playdough to form balls and cover the apple seeds on the apple.
A dot marker or playdough balls can be used to cover the large digit on each mat.
Using their finger, your child can trace the small digit. This exercise reinforces handwriting formation.
The ten-frame can be filled with small playdough balls also. Invite your child to cover each apple seed in the frame as they count each one.
The tracing line is great practice for learning number words.
