Help your child practice counting skills using play dough and a dry erase marker. Print these winter play dough math mats for your preschooler to review numerals and counting through a hands-on activity.
Playdough mats are a versatile resource for hands-on learning, especially for preschoolers. Using multiple senses to learn concepts helps children understand them more quickly and increases their confidence.
These printable mats include a ten-frame for counting snowballs on each page and traceable numerals from one to ten.
Have your child identify the numeral and count the number of snowballs found in the mitten. Give them time to create the correct number of snowballs, then place the snowballs on the ten-frame.
Encourage your child to count out loud each snowball as they place it on the frame. This will help them understand the relationship between the numeral and the number of snowballs.
Print the pages on cardstock and cut along the dotted edge to separate into single mats.
Laminate your mats or insert them into sheet protectors to reuse and protect them. Offer your child a dry erase marker for tracing.
