If it’s time to learn about money in your homeschool math class, games are helpful resources. Use this pirate money practice game to help your students review coins and amounts.
Learning about money ties in with several other math concepts. Skip counting, place value, multiplication, and decimals are a few.
Understanding money and how to count it also helps a child learn about spending and saving.
This fun pirate game has two different game boards to choose from.
The first has the names of the coins around the border and coin pictures in the middle. The second has the amounts in the middle.
To play, you’ll need a die, clear counters, and manipulatives for game pieces. Dot markers can be used In place of counters.
Start anywhere on the board and have the first player roll the die. The game pieces will move around the border.
When a player lands on a space, they will read the coin name. Next, they will locate either the amount or picture that matches the name and place a counter.
The first player to get four counters in a row is the winner.
