Children love the feel of slime in their hands, but they certainly wouldn’t eat it. Until now, that is, when you follow this gingerbread edible slime recipe!
We usually restrict the handling of slime to older children who can handle it responsibly. Sometimes younger ones put things in their mouths that they shouldn’t, or leave slime in unfortunate places, like pockets.
This recipe is perfectly edible, so there is no worry about accidental tasting. Don’t be surprised if your creation doesn’t make it past dinner!
Ingredients for this gingerbread slime recipe are simple. You’ll need vanilla frosting, powdered milk, cornstarch, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg molasses, and vegetable oil.
Invite your children to help add ingredients and stir them together. The recipe calls for briefly microwaving the can of frosting, and an older child can help with that.
Once your slime is ready to play with (and eat!) turn it out onto wax paper. The oil in the mixture can mark the finish on tabletops, so be cautious when children are playing.
Store in an airtight container if your children didn’t eat it all, and check for slime in their pockets.
