When I was introduced to Inductive Bible Studies, it really enhanced my knowledge of God’s Word. I still remember today the book we started with. We started with Peter. It had such an impact on me that now I find it hard to study God’s Word any other way. Check out this FREE guide to an Inductive Bible Study. My very favorite part of inductive studies is that we find the meaning of scripture within scripture, no outside source to find out the meaning of what the Lord is instructing us.
The premise for an Inductive Bible study rests on observation, interpretation, and application of God’s Word. When observing the key is to gather as many questions as you can think of about the passage. (i.e. who, what, when, where, why, etc.) You highlight the keywords of the passage. Then for interpretation, one would compare it with other Bible passages, use commentary, and think about why God chose to allow it in His word.
