Does your family celebrate Hanukkah during the season? These free DIY Hanukkah craft template patterns can help you with celebrating the Jewish holiday with your family.

We didn’t celebrate Hanukkah until just a few years ago, but we do now. Our activities aren’t anything big, but after learning what it was all about, we couldn’t help but take the time to acknowledge what it represented.
I had a friend years ago who celebrated Hanukkah. She went to the Judeo-Christian church which completely intrigued me. I knew that the Lord was a Hebrew and the celebrations were crucial to Jewish tradition. I thought if Jesus did it why shouldn’t we?
Hanukkah celebrates the rededication of the second temple in the city of Jerusalem. Historically, the acknowledgment of the days came from the unlikely victory of the Maccabees over the Greeks, when oil brought light for eight days instead of only one day. The act of lighting the candles is literally the act of lighting candles during the darkest time of the year. This year Hanukkah begins from 22 December to 30 December.
Celebrating this type of Jewish tradition is a great lesson for our kids and also a depiction of how dark the world can be at times even now.
