Are your children learning about digraphs? Use this free digraph phonics game to practice letter blends with them.
Digraphs are blends of two consonants or vowels that make one sound. Consonant digraphs are most often found at the beginning or end of a word.
Recognizing and memorizing digraphs is important as children’s reading skills progress.
Your children will enjoy playing this fun “Bump” digraph game for practicing.
To begin your digraph game, gather cardstock, a spinner, small colored counters, and a laminator, if you wish.
Print out the pdf game, and if you need it, the spinner as well. You can follow the instructions offered to make your own spinner with a brad and paper clip.
Each player will get a set of colored game counters.
The first player will use the spinner and read the digraph sound it lands on.
That player will locate a word using that sound and place a counter in that space.
The next player will spin.
The goal is to have the most counters on the page. The fun part is a player can “bump” another player’s counter off and take that space!
