Our homeschool group participates in the Box Top program with General Mills. We save our Box Top’s; the money we earn buys items for outside equipment and group supplies. If you’re homeschool co-op, homeschool group or homeschool organization uses Box Top$ you can now conveniently go online to submit your tops! This will help mommas like me who are always forgetting to take my baggie full for homeschool day. Click the banner above for sign up and bless your homeschool organization.
ADDITION 4/26/12: This is NOT a link to help your organization or homeschool group sign-up for the Box Tops program. As stated above in my original post this is for individuals who already have a box top organization or group that they currently give to. Now, with this program you can submit your tops online. 🙂

But doesn’t BoxTops require homeschool groups to have official IRS 501(c)3 status in order to participate? Because I looked into this just a couple of weeks ago for my homeschool group and we would have to file with the IRS for that status before they would approve us.

You know I’m not sure of those details. I know our homeschool group and our state organization both collect Box Tops. 🙂 I plug in our zip code and I select my group to donate too.

I found my group but I don’t see how to submit my box tops. I only see how to “earn” more….

I don’t have any further information on the program, sorry. Maybe you can shoot them an email if you’re having trouble. 🙂

Yeah, I tried to talk to them and even went to FB to share my difficulties with signing up as a homeschool co-op. We aren’t accepted because we don’t have a legal entity or association. 🙁 Oh well. If it works for a co op, let us know how they do it.

I asked a homeschool group and was told that since they are non-profit they were accepted. I see several homeschool groups on their list. Sorry! 🙁

But the *how* of their acceptance would be helpful information. If your homeschool group participates in it, wouldn’t it be easy to ask whoever established the program exactly how they were accepted? Because according to Box Tops’ rules, you must be accredited (homeschool groups are not) or have legal 501(c)3 status. A bit more detailed information is helpful to readers when you post something like that.

I understand. The best I can do is pass on this information. There somehow are homeschool groups already in this program. I do not know if they are grandfathered in or not. My own group has been in the program for years, and my large state group is apart of the program as well. For those who are already in the program this is a nice way to manage their box tops.
I did add this statement to the above post to further clarify:
