Already used the pecan and corn books, or hunting for another short farm lesson? Texas Farm Bureau shares two more free activity books — one on peanuts and one on forestry. Each is 4 pages, so you get 8 pages in all. They download straight from the page with no email needed, and they make an easy kitchen-table science afternoon.

What’s included
Peanut Activity Book (4 pages)
- A “this book belongs to” cover.
- The four peanut varieties Texas farmers grow (Runner, Virginia, Spanish, and Valencia), plus a compare-and-contrast prompt.
- A peanut life cycle page.
- Labeling the parts of a peanut plant (stem, leaf, flower, peg, and more).
- “What are peanuts used for?” plus a creative peanut-butter recipe prompt and “Did you know?” facts.
Forestry Activity Book (4 pages)
- A “this book belongs to” cover.
- Labeling the parts of a mature loblolly pine (the most common pine in Texas), plus a draw-your-own-forest space.
- Counting tree rings to estimate age, then drawing your own trunk.
- A Texas forest map challenge and “Why are trees important?” writing prompts.
- An extra challenge about how long a pine takes to grow (kids fill in their own answer).
Honest notes: neither book prints an age range or an answer key. The pages are half-letter size, so print two per sheet or scale them up. Both titles are also listed in Spanish on the same page. This is a different freebie from the same publisher’s pecan and corn books.
Who it’s for
Families who like short, hands-on farm and nature pages — no big prep, no account to create. Siblings can each take a book and swap. If you already enjoyed the free pecan and corn activity books from Texas Farm Bureau, these fit the same easy format.
How to use
- Do the peanut book before a snack with peanut butter, then list everyday peanut uses together.
- Take the forestry book on a walk and look for pine needles, cones, and trunk shapes.
- Add both to a harvest or trees unit alongside a pumpkin or leaves study.
- Print two-to-a-page to save paper, or enlarge to full letter for younger writers.
- Keep a set in the car for a farm, orchard, or state-park outing.
