Tips for Easy Homeschool Meal Planning
Batch cook on weekends. Spend 2-3 hours on Sunday prepping ingredients or full meals for the week. Chop vegetables, cook grains, and prep proteins so weeknight dinners come together in minutes.
Repeat what works. You don’t need 7 unique dinners every week. Most families rotate through 10-15 meals they love. Pick your family’s favorites and cycle through them on a 2-3 week rotation.
Let kids help. Homeschool meal prep IS home economics class. Kids can measure ingredients (math!), read recipes (reading!), and learn kitchen safety (life skills!). Don’t think of cooking as separate from school.
Keep a running snack list. The 80+ snack ideas in this menu plan are worth printing and posting on the fridge. When kids say “I’m hungry” (approximately 47 times per homeschool day), point them to the list.
