Homemade Meatball Subs Recipe
Meatball subs is one of my family’s favorite meals for sandwich night. It is quick, easy, and fills us up. If you want something green to go with it, steam some broccoli or toss a salad together.
You will notice that everything comes pre-packaged. That is what makes this meal so easy. But for someone who wants to cook from scratch, this meal can be just as easy. I like to can my own spaghetti sauce with all the tomatoes I grow in the garden. And if God blesses us with meat in bulk (insert “The boy got a deer, here.”), I will make meatballs ahead and freeze those.
- Ingredients:
- 1 package hoagie rolls
- 1 bag frozen meatballs
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
- 1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
- To assemble the subs:
- Cook your meatballs in the sauce until hot through.
- Open the rolls and place on pan with open side up. Toast under the broiler. This step keeps the sauce from making the bread soggy.
- Layer meatballs and sauce on the rolls and sprinkle the top with cheese.
- Broil again to melt the cheese.
