Your beginner sits down at the piano and can’t find middle C. That’s normal, and learning the key names first makes every lesson after it easier. PianoGrid shares a free piano key names worksheet pack for the white keys from middle C (C4) up to the next C (C5). It has a labeled keyboard reference, a write-in practice page and an answer page, in US Letter or A4. You don’t need an account to download it.

What’s included
- A 3-page pack in US Letter or A4.
- Page 1: a labeled keyboard from C4 to C5, with tips for finding C, D and F by the groups of black keys.
- Page 2: a “name the keys” worksheet where kids write the letter name on each white key, plus three quick find-it prompts.
- Page 3: an answer page, plus short notes on using the pack in a lesson.
- A separate 1-page worksheet-only PDF (US Letter) for extra practice copies.
Honest notes: this pack covers one octave (C4–C5), and the worksheet asks only for the white-key names. The keyboard is a reference diagram, not a full-size sticker template for your piano. PianoGrid doesn’t list a grade or age for it.
Who it’s for
Just bought a keyboard, or starting lessons at the kitchen table? This pack is for beginning piano students of any age, and for the parent who is learning right alongside them. It works whether you’re teaching piano yourself or reinforcing what a teacher covers each week.
How to use
- Start with the labeled page. Point out the groups of two and three black keys, then find C, D and F together at the piano.
- Cover the reference and try the worksheet. Add octave numbers only when your child is ready.
- Check the answers together, then pick one or two keys to look at again tomorrow, so it never feels like a speed test.
- Print a few worksheet-only copies for a quick warm-up before practice time.
- Tape the labeled page near the keyboard for the first few weeks.
