Cold and flu season is here, and with a house full of children at least one of them is bound to come down with something. If they are fortunate enough to ward off any of the bugs that are floating around, then there are always scrapes and bruises or just unpredictable incidents. Recently, I found this great app, Merck Manual. It is a free app full of health information that I can look up symptoms, possible treatments and recent health-related news articles.
The Merck Manual App is extremely user friendly and ad free. Merck has been a go to source for updated medical information for medical professionals and consumers alike for over 100 years. The information provided is from medical professionals worldwide. Knowing that the information is accurate and updated is very comforting. Additionally, I can use this app to help with homeschooling. There are great video tutorials and diagrams for hands on learning. There are even interactive quizzes available. This truly is a profound learning tool for health-related information and I’m so glad we have the Merck Manual at our fingertips.
With a goal to provide the most comprehensive medical information on a global scale by 2020 you can be assured that you are getting the most updated information available. Plus, this free app, unlike most free apps you see today, is ad free. That means I don’t have to worry about what ads will pop up for the kids or have an ad pop up while I am in the middle of reading something.
The App is very easy to download. Since it has so much information, it does take a few minutes to download completely. But it is well worth it to have all of that medical information at your figure tips.
For Android users, you can visit the Google Play store.

I really can’t say enough about this app and how helpful it is to our family. The information continues to be updated and modified by medical professionals around the world. Having access to all of this information and something free and new for the kids to learn is a blessing.
About the Merck Manual:
First published in 1899 as a small reference book for physicians and pharmacists, the Manual grew in size and scope to become one of the most widely used comprehensive medical resources for professionals and consumers. As the Manual evolved, it continually expanded the reach and depth of its offerings to reflect the mission of providing the best medical information of the day to a wide cross-section of users, including medical professionals and students, veterinarians and veterinary students, and consumers.
