Some of the best play days start with a cardboard box and a pile of old envelopes. If your little ones love waving at the mail truck, a few printables can turn that interest into a real afternoon of play without hours of prep. Prep & Pretend shares free mail carrier pretend play printables, a 4-page post office sampler you can set up with things you already have. There’s no login or email needed.
What’s Included
The free sampler is one 4-page PDF:
- A welcome page for the grown-up setting up play
- A cut-out Mail Carrier role badge with a name line
- A POST OFFICE OPEN sign with a simple play prompt
- A 5-minute setup guide with four steps using everyday materials
Heads up: the file is A4 size. If you print on US letter paper, choose “fit to page” in your print settings.
Who It’s For
Little ones who love to “deliver” things will be right at home here. It fits roughly pre-K through 2nd grade, so younger kids can sort and carry the mail while older siblings write the letters and addresses. It’s an easy add to a community helpers theme or a simple literacy center.
How to Use It
- Post office corner: set up a table, basket or recycled box with the OPEN sign, then let kids write, sort, label and deliver pretend mail.
- Community helpers week: pair the badge with a read-aloud about mail carriers.
- Writing practice: have kids write a short note or draw a picture for each family member’s “mailbox.”
- Co-op or playdate: print a badge for every child so everyone gets a turn as the mail carrier.

No login or email needed. Prep & Pretend also sells complete play centers, so you’ll see paid options on the page, but the 4-page sampler is free.
