“Red and yellow leaves, orange leaves, brown…” If your early reader loves a silly rhyme, this one is a treat. This Reading Mama shares a free Fall Poetry Pack for kindergarten through 2nd grade: 26 pages built around her original leaf-pile poem, with no email needed.
Inside, kids read the one-page poem, circle rhyming words, color the color words, rebuild the poem with pocket-chart strips, cut and glue the lines in order, draw what they picture, and make their own little poem book. Activity cards give you easy ideas for re-reading with expression.
Preschoolers can join in with a grown-up’s help, and it makes a lovely five-minute poetry tea-time or morning basket reading.
