This afternoon my friend Aadel introduces us to her wonderful free educational material site. Believe me, I’ve found myself lost on her blog – enjoying all of the resources that she highlights. At FreeHomeschoolDeals.com we have already featured her (Free) Wild Bill Hickok Resources & Notebooking Pages, How Plants Travel Notebooking Pack (Free), and Free Train Notebook Pages.<<<—-Don’t miss those if you haven’t snagged them already. 😉
Homeschool Commons was born from my own love of free stuff and printables. I have been creating printables and educational resources from public domain stuff longer than I have been blogging.
The difference between Homeschool Commons and a lot of other freebie sites is that it highlights material that is truly liberated. All of it is free, but 99% of the content listed on the site can be used to make your own products- even commercially.
Furthermore, I don’t just share any old public domain material. I have purposed to emphasize only material that is beneficial to homeschoolers and educators. Ebooks, audio, illustrations, and comics are just a smattering of what has already been posted on the site.
The site is organized three ways:
You can also search by keyword or topic. Occasionally, I also share my expertise about finding public domain resources, using them to make products, and other tutorials.
The applications of using these resources are almost endless. You can use the text of the book to make your own copywork pages. The illustrations and chapter titles could become a notebooking set.
Even if you are just browsing for free resources to use in your homeschool you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone at the Homeschool Commons.
