Bible Road Trip
Are you looking for a Bible curriculum that will actually take your children through the Bible cover to cover? Would you like to use a Bible curriculum with your entire family at the same time, yet still enable your children to explore the Bible at an age-appropriate level? Do you desire to have your middle school and high school students move beyond a basic understanding of Scripture into a more in-depth study?
Bible Road Trip may be just what you’re looking for.
Bible Road Trip is a professionally written, free 3-Year Bible Survey Curriculum arranged at four different levels for grades 1-12. The curriculum is accompanied by three different levels of free notebooking pages, designed by an art major. High school level students are encouraged to take their own notes, and to engage in a 3-year blog, video or class project to share what they’ve learned.
Bible Road Trip will walk your students through Scripture book by book. Students will learn about each book, read from the Bible, and memorize key verses. Each weekly schedule offers a number of important activities including notebooking, crafts, prayer for other countries, and great supplemental books and videos. The upper grades will research biblical archaeology and ancient history that corresponds with what they’ve learned that week.
Bible Road Trip utilizes some of the best resources available to help your children understand the themes, history and content of Scripture. These resources were chosen for their scholarship, ease of use and value.
Each week, you and your students will learn about a new section of the Bible. Children and young adults will have the opportunity to read engaging material about the section you’ll be studying before diving into Scripture. This approach helps students understand what they’re learning in context. Bible verses, crafts, supplemental videos, historical fiction read-alouds (for the 4th-6th grade levels), notebooking pages and research assignments related to the section round out the curriculum. In addition to their work in the Bible, students will read about different countries each week. They will have an opportunity to learn to pray for other believers and the cause of the gospel across the globe.
Bible Road Trip is highly customizable. The curriculum was created with individual families in mind. You may choose to omit any part of the curriculum you feel does not fit your needs. Want Bible Road Trip to fill more of your curriculum needs? Simply add a related weekly writing assignment or plan some geography work for the prayer section.
Each year-plan in the three-year cycle includes thirty-two weeks of work. This leaves four free weeks in the standard thirty-six week school year. You may use these additional weeks to expand your study, or as a buffer to allow for time off. During Year One, students will study the Books of the Law and History (Genesis – Esther). Year Two focuses on the Books of Poetry and Prophecy (Job – Malachi). Year Three covers the entire New Testament (Matthew-Revelation). It’s a good idea to begin at the beginning so that your students obtain a full understanding of creation, the fall, the Law, and God’s ultimate plan for redemption through Christ Jesus.
