FREE BEGINNING SOUNDS ALPHABET CLIP CARDS (instant download)

Phonics is definitely an important part of learning to read. I share phonics activities quite often on my blog. But even before kids learn all the letter-sound correspondences, they can play with just the sounds in words. Learning to play with and manipulate sounds in words is a crucial skill needed for reading, too!

Beginning Sounds Clip Cards

These beginning sounds clip cards are a great way to get kids started with listening for the beginning sounds in words. There are NO letters involved, so instead of calling this phonics, it is deemed phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is being aware of the little sounds in words, such as beginning sounds, middle sounds, or ending sounds.

Included in this pack are 10 pages of clip cards {40 total} that will not only work on beginning sounds, but fine motor skills, too. Now that’s a 2-for-1!
