I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth; although I’ve received a few emails wondering where I’ve gone. We’ve been smack dab in the middle of the East Coast power outages since last Friday. Since we just got internet back yesterday, and I’m in the middle of whipping together a massive free Kindle book list for Free Homeschool Deals, this Big Family Friday is short for me. More to come…I know that you’d like to know all about flushing toilets with pond water. It’s been exciting around here. 😉
We were in the red circle.
Here’s a little big family humor ~

Oh Jamerrill! I am sitting here in tears from laughing so hard at the video you shared. Hilarious!
What state are you in? We are in Indiana and didn’t have power for 4 days. I had to call my dad and ask how to flush the toilet. We live in the country too and I had no clue. I was doing dishes thanking God that I was able to do dishes, I could almost say that I missed it! Today we are supposed to reach 112 with humidity, Yuck!
We’re in Virginia. Yes, VERY thankful to wash dishes and do laundry, lol!
Thankfully we haven’t been without power but it has been seriously HOT here! We’ve set a few all-time records here in the Atlanta area! I hope everything is all back to normal for you ASAP!
Been praying for you folks in the east! Our family knows first hand what a big power outage is like. We were 23 days without power during the ice storm of 09. Last year we lost a lot more than electricity during the Spring floods. Remember to count your blessings and that when you are discouraged try to encourage someone else.
Oh, I hear you, Betty Jo. We are so thankful. Many are still w/o power/water. Our 3 days were a challenge, but nonetheless it was only 3 days.
Thank you, Jamie. It’s still crazy hot here, but we’re as ‘normal’ as we’re gonna get 🙂
glad you are ok- can you imagine how it used to be? so much we take for granted today – right? 🙂
