Just wanted to mention that it can be interesting to look at the permissions before getting a new app. The Hello Kitty app looks like something my daughter would love, but it seems to be data mining given some of the permissions: read the low-level system log files, access information about Wi-Fi networks, access coarse (e.g., Cell-ID, Wi-Fi) location, access information about networks & phone state, etc. I’m uncomfortable with the fact that the developer wants the location of the device as well as the system log files, etc., and is opening network sockets. It’s a shame, because my 6 year old loves Hello Kitty. (I did get a couple of the others that didn’t have so many permissions.) Anyway, I hope this comment might be helpful.
Also, thank you for writing this blog. I just discovered it a week or two ago and have been enjoying it and finding it very useful. 🙂
Oh, thank you Jennifer. It is hard to catch everything. I appreciate your insight! 🙂
